2026 Update: PROMOTION

Promotion is a significant milestone that an ensemble can reach, and shows they are ready for greater artistic and technical challenges while appreciating the effort that is made to ensure classifications are aligned with expectations for each class. It serves as validation of skill and recognition of achievement of design. Promotion also reinforces a growth mindset and encourages designers and performers to consistently improve and boost their program’s prestige.

It is with great excitement that we announce the promotion of New Milford HS Winter Guard from the Scholastic AA class to the Scholastic National A class! We can’t wait to see how you take on the challenge, and are sure you are ready to continue to grow! Congratulations!!!

2026 Update: Guard Promotion Committee

Ensuring that ensembles are placed in the correct competitive class is essential to maintaining fairness and fostering the educational growth of the performers. 

In addition to the guard representatives on the Executive Board, MAC has founded a Promotion Committee to independently review guard ensembles who meet the criteria for automatic review and/or are requested a review by an adjudication panel at the conclusion of an event.
